The Los Angeles Angels eked out a 3-2 win versus the Oakland Athletics at Oakland Coliseum. Nobody did more than pitcher Nestor Cortes. He was terrific. Picking up the save was Reynaldo Lopez. He's now 33 for 33 in save chances. The Angels, at 66-69, sit in 6th place in the American League West Division.

Runs were scarce in this one. So, Jonatan Clase's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With two out, the Los Angeles center fielder hit a run-scoring single, to give his team a 3-2 lead.

"This was a tough loss," said Oakland manager Jonesy Jones. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
