Wolkow, Nationals Beat Red Hawks, 10-9
|
The Washington Nationals used the hitting of first baseman George Wolkow to subdue the Oklahoma City Red Hawks, 10-9. For the game, Wolkow went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs. Washington reliever Logan Henderson was the winner. His record is now 6-2. Carson Montgomery took the loss. The 4th-place Nationals are now 68-76, the Red Hawks 84-59.
Washington used the timely hitting of Roman Martin to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Nationals on top, 10-9. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Wolkow said.
