Blue Jays 3-0 Losers to Detroit
|
Detroit pitcher Sun-taek Kim did his part in helping his team defeat the Toronto Blue Jays, 3-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The win went to Danny Hannah in relief, making him now 1-1. Josh Tuszynski took the loss for Toronto. Jose Lopez closed out the game, earning his 15th save.
Detroit used a clutch hit from Jeremy Blau to snatch the win. The third baseman belted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Tigers ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Toronto manager Crillah Smith.
The Tigers, at 82-56, sit in second place in the American League AL Central.
