Giants Come Up Short at Chicago, 4-3
The Chicago Cubs did just enough to secure a victory over the San Francisco Giants, 4-3, at Wrigley Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Ignacio Ibarra. The save was credited to Chris Sale, his 1st. This win makes it 5 in a row for Chicago.

With the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the sixth inning, first baseman Nolan Gorman delivered big for the Cubs. Chicago was trailing 3-2 when he belted a solo home run.

"Both teams played hard," said Chicago manager Josh Widener.
