Cincinnati took on Pittsburgh in front of a lively crowd.

The Cincinnati Reds withstood an impressive performance by Pittsburgh right fielder Juan Fonseca to defeat the Pirates, 8-6, at PNC Park. Fonseca was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Ernie Hussey closed out the game, earning his 9th save.

Juan Rojas, who finished 3rd in the AL in slugging percentage with .560 in 2025, took Pittsburgh hurler Doug Kirby deep in the top of the first. His 2-run home run put the Reds on top, 2-0. In all, Rojas had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.

"Winning is seldom easy in this league," said Rojas.

The first-place Reds sport a record of 93-43.
