Mets Dismiss Nationals, 3-2

The New York Mets did just enough to sneak past the Washington Nationals, 3-2, at Citi Field. New York first baseman Rafael Devers, in particular, had a standout performance. Brad Glynn went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the NL with a 2.79 ERA, struck out 4 and walked 4. With the win, he's now 8-10 this season. Bryan Abreu notched his 21st save of the season.
Orva Beaver went 1 for 3 for New York. The 25-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Dane Crowell. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
"We were in it," said Washington manager Julian Martini. "We just didn't score enough runs."
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Mets.
