It was pandemonium at PNC Park after an exciting walk-off win.
The Pittsburgh Pirates downed the Minnesota Twins, 8-7, at PNC Park. The Pirates were led by Juan Fonseca. Fonseca went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Santiago Suarez, now 4-8, was credited with the win in 2.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 0.
The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Pittsburgh trailing 7-6, Tug Whitaker delivered the decisive blow, stroking a fastball from Clayton Beeter for a 2-run double. Ballgame.

Pittsburgh is now 53-73, Minnesota 53-73.
