Citi Field hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.

The Aviators grabbed a win, 1-0, at Citi Field, overcoming a fine effort from New York pitcher Bubba Chandler. Chandler went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Kyle Wright, the winning pitcher, improved to 8-10. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and no runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Seranthony Dominguez picked up the save, his 26th.

Brandon Nimmo, the 33-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Nimmo contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Carolina up, 1-0.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said New York skipper Brent Natwick.

The win makes Carolina 57-60.
