The San Francisco Giants stopped the Texas Rangers, 9-3, at Oracle Park. The Giants got a big game from Jean-Marie Ducrocq, who slugged 3 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring three times. San Francisco now sits at 56-56, while Texas falls to 56-55.

San Francisco went up, 7-3, on Jelani Straughter's 30th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Straughter hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Texas pitcher Joe James muttering to himself.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Straughter told the San Francisco Bulletin.
