The rain did not keep Texas and Seattle from finishing their game.

The Texas Rangers topped the Seattle Mariners, 3-2, with third baseman Bryson Stott playing a big role. Stott went 1 for 1 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times for the Rangers in the win. Leam Mendez earned the save, his 22nd, for the Rangers.

Texas took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Stott hit a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season made the score 2-1, Texas.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Seattle manager Devin Pogue. "But we decided not to take it."

The Rangers sport a record of 40-65.
