Mets Improve to 59-47 with 3-0 Win
|
In a tight game between the New York Mets and the Brooklyn Dodgers, pitcher Brad Glynn was terrific on the mound. The New York right-hander helped his team to the 3-0 win. Glynn, the winner, moves to 8-5. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. Alex Vesia collected save number 3.
The Mets got a big at-bat from first baseman Rafael Devers. For the game, Devers went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 19th double of the season gave New York a 2-0 lead.
Glynn said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The loss makes Brooklyn 62-45.
