Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Boston Red Sox got the win.

Behind an impressive start by Carson Montgomery, Boston beat Milwaukee, 4-2. Boston is now 50-52, Milwaukee 43-58.

The Red Sox got a big at-bat from right fielder Mike Lay. For the game, Lay was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Boston a 3-2 lead.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Montgomery.
