Thrilling Win Pushes Missouri to Next Round
|
The Missouri Tigers are off to the Conf Championship, with a 7-2 win in the Conf Semi Final over the Kentucky Wildcats.
"You get excited in a one-game playoff because one bad inning could ruin things for a whole season and that's a lot of pressure," said Missouri's Chris Pollack, who paced his team's offence with a 3-for-5 effort. "We're all excited to get out of here with the win."
On the other side, in the Kentucky clubhouse, there were only solemn hugs and handshakes as the team saw a postseason run cut short.
"It stings, there's no way around that," said Kentucky manager .
The Missouri Tigers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Ole Miss Rebels - South Carolina Gamecocks series. That series is tied at 0 games apiece. The Conf Championship schedule will be announced after the Conf Semi Final finishes.
