Dodgers Down Yankees, 6-3
|
The first-place Brooklyn Dodgers took on the New York Yankees in front of a spirited crowd.
Brooklyn starter Coleman Crow pitched well against the New York Yankees at Ebbets Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. Crow went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-4.
In the bottom of the second, Tomas Nido delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Brooklyn catcher hit a 2-run single, putting the Dodgers in front, 6-3.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Crow. "Successful pitchers do it."
Brooklyn leads the National League East Division by 5 games.
