Mountcastle Hits Two Dingers, Padres Win, 7-1
San Diego took on Oklahoma City in front of a lively crowd.

Good production from designated hitter Ryan Mountcastle helped the San Diego Padres topple the Oklahoma City Red Hawks, 7-1. Mountcastle hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Padres. Jordan Montgomery got the win, improving to 3-8. He worked 8 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2.

The Padres got a big hit from third baseman Rece Hinds. In the bottom of the fifth, Hinds pounded a run-scoring double to center. His 7th double of the season put the Padres ahead, 3-1.

Mountcastle called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
