Home Loss Shrinks Phillies Series Lead to 3-1
|
The Cincinnati Reds have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Philadelphia Phillies, winning, 5-3, at Citizens Bank Park. Reds right fielder Juan Rojas was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The win cuts the deficit facing the Reds to 3-1 in the best-of-7 Round 3.
Jorge Roa, who finished 4th in the NL in RBI with 119 in 2031, helped out the Cincinnati cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the shortstop went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks.
"We lost," Philadelphia manager Brian Abdilla said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
