Extra-Inning Win by Indians Over Reds
|
The Cleveland Indians topped the Cincinnati Reds, 10-4, in 11 innings. Cleveland left fielder Andre Arthur, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Jesus Villicana picked up the win in relief for Cleveland, while Jose Geraldo took the loss. After today's action, Cleveland sits at 37-39; Cincinnati slips to 48-27.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Dean Moss came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Cincinnati pitcher Jose Geraldo, he hit a 1-1 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Cleveland on top, 5-4.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Cleveland manager Michael Nelson.
