Phillies Fall Short, 2-1, at Atlanta
|
Truist Park was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
Atlanta Braves starter Joe Ross was in fine form as he helped his team beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 2-1. Ross went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-4.
With two out in the bottom of the third, Sean Brennan stroked a go-ahead 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put Atlanta in front, 2-0.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Philadelphia manager Brian Abdilla, "let me know."
With the win, the Braves hiked their record to 29-22.
