Tigers Move on to Round 2
The Detroit (DSL) Tigers have swept the Chicago N (DSL) Cubs and are on to the Round 2. Detroit (DSL) won 8-7 today at Tower Complex to clinch the Round 1.

"We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Detroit (DSL) shortstop Yoelvis Nieves, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning."

Nieves won the award with a .750 batting average and a .800 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 0 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Detroit (DSL) Tigers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Cleveland (DSL) Indians - Philadelphia (DSL) Phillies series. Philadelphia (DSL) leads the series 1 game to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
