Reds Hang 5-2 Loss on Phillies
|
The Cincinnati Reds beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-2. Cincinnati pitcher and San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic, native Freddery Paulino led the way. Cincinnati reliever Freddery Paulino got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Jeremy Douglas Jewell was tagged with the loss. Adbert Alzolay picked up the save, his 11th.
The Reds got a big hit from designated hitter Brett Blair. In the bottom of the fifth, Blair pounded a 3-run home run to left-center. His 6th home run of the season put the Reds ahead, 5-0.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Blair, "and go after the next one."
The 4th-place Reds have a record of 25-27.
