St. Louis designated hitter Malcom Nunez helped his team beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 7-4. Nunez went 3 for 5 for the Cardinals. James Hellwig got the win, improving to 13-8. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 10 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 0. Paul Sewald earned save number 55.

St. Louis grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Nunez hit a bases-clearing double. His 19th double of the season put the Cardinals out in front, 5-2.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Nunez.

The second-place Cardinals are 96-63.
