Rangers Win, 4-3, Extend Streak to 4 Games
|
Cleveland got a terrific game from right fielder Lazaro Montes. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Texas, 4-3. Montes went 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ryne Nelson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Cristian Javier was tagged with the loss. The Rangers now have a record of 22-27 with the win over Cleveland.
Texas used a clutch hit from Bryson Stott to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rangers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Stott, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
