Boston beat San Diego in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Boston Red Sox tallied a win at Fenway Park, throttling the San Diego Padres, 5-1. Starting pitcher Joseph King was a big reason for his team's success. The win hiked the Boston record to 26-24.

The Red Sox got a big hit from second baseman Donovan Walton. In the bottom of the sixth, Walton pounded a solo home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season put the Red Sox ahead, 3-1.

Walton called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
