Red Hawks Earn 4-3 Road Win Over San Francisco
|
Oklahoma City rode a decent outing from starter Jared Shuster to victory over the San Francisco Giants. The final score was 4-3. The winner was Oklahoma City reliever Ryan Helsley, now 1-0. The loser was Ben Brown. Pete Fairbanks sewed up the save, his 7th.
The outcome might have been different for Oklahoma City, had it not been for Jonathan India, the 2021 Rookie of the Year Award winner . India stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Oklahoma City up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
San Francisco manager David Wise said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Oklahoma City has a record of 16-17, placing them 6th in the National League West Division.
