Juan Soto made an impact in the 6-5 Montreal win over Carolina. Soto, who led the NL in on-base percentage with .421 in 2023, was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Jose Alvarado earned the save, his 8th, for the Expos.

Montreal took a 6-5 lead on Jose Siri's 2nd double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Siri hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Carolina pitcher Carlos Vargas visibly frustrated.

"I still think this team can play even better," Soto told the Montreal Times.

The win gives Montreal a record of 18-13.
