The Baltimore Orioles stopped the New York Yankees, 10-6, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The Orioles got a big game from Chris Kniffen, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Matt McDaid was the winner. He's now 9-9. The loser was three-time Cy Young Award winner Brian Jeter. The first-place Orioles have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.

Kniffen had a key at-bat for Baltimore in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 29th home run of the season and gave Baltimore an early 4-0 lead.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Baltimore skipper Jason Gudim.
