Naps Lose as Yankees Stage Late Rally
The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Naps by the score of 8-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Joel Williams. Williams went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Yankees on the day. New York reliever Phil Rizor was the winner. His record is now 1-0. New York used a clutch hit from Bill Lillie to get the win. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Yankees ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
