Thrice Is Nice: Shuffield Unloads 3 Homers Wednesday, May 15th , 2024 Fans are still buzzing after Aberdeen whipped the Wilmington Blue Rocks by the score of 14-13 at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Dalton Shuffield smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the second baseman bashed out 3 hits in 7 at-bats, had 4 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Shuffield said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Shuffield said. "Three is just... wow." Dalton Shuffield hit a solo-shot off Sean Sullivan in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Sean Sullivan in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Daniel Brown in the 9th and struck out in the 11th. In 33 games Shuffield is hitting .349 this season with 44 hits, 14 home runs, 38 RBIs, 34 walks, .484 OBP and has scored 35 runs. |
