Gregory Baez Sidelined for Season Wednesday, July 3rd , 2024 Gregory Baez of the Ironbirds just might have to call it quits for the season. The 22-year-old Aberdeen reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the Brooklyn Cyclones recently at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium. Baez suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch. The Ironbirds medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 6 months. Baez has taken the mound for 18 relief appearances this season, nailing down 1 save while notching a 4-0 record with a 6.49 ERA. The Aberdeen reliever has limited opposing batters to a .283 batting average. |
