Sugilio Tags Cardinals for 5 Hits Tuesday, May 28th , 2024 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Andy Sugilio -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Riverfront Stadium and paced the 4-3 Wind Surge win over the Springfield Cardinals. After his dynamite batting performance, the Wichita left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Andy Sugilio singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, doubled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th. So far this season, Sugilio is batting .375 with 1 home run, 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored. He has 24 hits in 64 at-bats, no walks and a .379 OBP. Sugilio has played in 15 games. |
