Travelers Heading to Round 2 Thursday, September 26th , 2024 The Round 1 went the distance before it all was said and done. The Arkansas Travelers and the Tulsa Drillers went at it tooth-and-nail and when it was over at ONEOK Field, the winner was the Travelers. They put away Tulsa 7-4 to cinch the series and won the right to move onto the Round 2. For his fine play, even in a losing effort, Tulsa shortstop Casey Schmitt was given the series Most Valuable Player Award. He hit .429, scored 6 runs and batted in 6 to win the honor. "It's nice that someone noticed my numbers, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a win," he said. The Arkansas Travelers will play against the San Antonio Missions in the next round. San Antonio won their series against the Corpus Christi Hooks 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
