Morales Hits Two Dingers, White Knights Win, 6-2
|
The Brooklyn White Knights stopped the Seoul Air Riders, 6-2, at Centaurs Field. The White Knights got a big game from Roberto Morales, who was 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Ming Zhu, the winning pitcher, is now 1-0. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 0. The win gives Brooklyn a record of 3-2.
Brooklyn designated hitter Amray Masibuwa contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 6th hit of the season and put the White Knights ahead, 3-0.
In postgame comments to the Brooklyn Observer, Masibuwa said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
