Rangers Deal Mariners Painful Loss
|
In a tight contest at Arlington Stadium, the Texas Rangers edged the Seattle Mariners by the score of 2-1. Texas first baseman Dan Driessen, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. The winner in relief was Bruce Taylor. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Texas has won 4 straight games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Texas designated hitter Mike Easler, facing Joey McLaughlin, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Rangers the 2-1 win.
"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Driessen.
