Blue Jays Reel-In 7-5 Win Over Red Sox
|
Boston got a valiant performance from pitcher Lynn McGlothen, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toronto Blue Jays. Toronto won the game, 7-5. McGlothen threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The winner in relief was Doug Corbett. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 15-12. After today's action, Toronto sits at 73-88; Boston slips to 94-67.
It could have been a different outcome for Toronto, had it not been for Lloyd Moseby, the 20-year old right fielder . Moseby contributed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Toronto up, 7-5.
"It was a solid team effort," Moseby said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
