Behind a fine performance from Darrell Porter, the Detroit Tigers knocked off the Toronto Blue Jays, 9-5. Porter was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Tigers. Hal Kurtz was called on to finish, recording his 20th save.
