Yankees Top Red Sox, 6-5
|
The New York Yankees wiggled past the Boston Red Sox, 6-5, at Yankee Stadium. The win was highlighted by the performance of New York second baseman Willie Randolph. The loss makes Boston 89-60.
The Yankees relied on center fielder Fred Lynn for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 12th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Randolph.
