Brewers Sink Twins, 6-2
|
Milwaukee starter Mike Krukow pitched well against the Minnesota Twins at County Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-2. In 6.2 innings, Krukow surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Tom Bruno got credit for the save for Milwaukee. It was his 14th of the year.
In the bottom of the sixth, Milwaukee first baseman Richie Hebner put his team on top. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit his 12th home run of the year. Minnesota pitcher Marty Bystrom served it up. Just like that, the Brewers were ahead, 3-1.
Krukow said his team "played with determination."
Milwaukee is now 81-65. Minnesota is 79-66.
