Milwaukee rode a decent outing from starter Bob Owchinko to victory over the Texas Rangers. The final score was 4-2. The win was credited to Al Hrabosky in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Richard Dotson took the loss. Steve Crawford earned save number 2 this season.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when center fielder Jerry Mumphrey, who is tied for 9th in the AL in stolen bases with 50, hit a triple. The Brewers went on to win.
