Syracuse shortstop Mike Miley was a significant contributor in his team's 7-6 triumph over the Auburn Falcons. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for Syracuse. Aurelio Lopez earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 4-1. Syracuse, at 64-46, sits in third place in the AL AAA East.

The Chiefs used some clutch hitting to beat the Falcons, a good example being the at-bat of Bill Stein in the top of the ninth. With two down, Stein gave his team the lead, 7-6, when he hit a run-scoring single.
