Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Diablos
|
The El Paso Diablos stopped the Pine Bluff Judges, 5-3, at Dudley Field. The Diablos got a big game from Jerry Narron, who went 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Larry Corr got credit for the win, improving to 10-11. He allowed 3 runs on 9 hits in 9 innings. El Paso is 5th in the AL AAA West with a record of 44-53.
Narron had a timely hit for El Paso in the bottom of the eighth. With Pine Bluff trailing 3-2, he turned a 3-1 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season, making it 5-3, El Paso.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Narron told the El Paso Gazette.
