Minnesota picked up a win at Metropolitan Stadium, bumping off the California Angels, 5-4. Pitcher Craig Swan was a major reason the Twins emerged victorious. Swan picked up the win for Minnesota, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Steve Howe earned the save, his 2nd.

Ron LeFlore was vital part of the Minnesota win. He was 1 for 5. In the bottom of the second with one out, LeFlore hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 1-0, in favor of the Twins.

"Winning is not something we take for granted," LeFlore said.

The Angels fall to 4-8.
