Superb Year for Jopling, Wins Outstanding Hitter Award Wednesday, October 12th , 2050 He may have less experience than most of his BLB Rookie League peers, but that didn't slow Grant Jopling down at all in 2050. At the age of 19, the Rocky Mountain third baseman has been named the winner of the Porter Outstanding Hitter Award. He had a .397 batting average and a .471 on-base percentage this year. In 119 games he piled up 199 hits, 41 doubles, 5 triples, 22 home runs, 101 RBIs and 98 runs scored. "I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year." He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner.
