McCarthy Captures CCBL Batter of Month Award Monday, May 1st, 2045 R.J. McCarthy put together a good April to earn the Cape Cod League Batter of the Month prize. A virtual unknown, he made the most of his chance to prove to Orleans officials that he belongs on the big league roster. The Firebirds first baseman posted a .367 batting average with 14 home runs, 29 RBIs and 27 runs scored. Presently McCarthy is batting .360 with 63 hits and 23 home runs. He has knocked in 55 runs and scored 46 times. |
