42-Game Hitting Streak for Foster Saturday, March 13th , 2060 The Orleans Firebirds suffered a 6-5 setback today at the hands of the Harwich Mariners at Eldredge Park, but hot-hitting Toby Foster went 1-for-2 and kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive. The hometown crowd burst into cheers when the popular center fielder extended his streak to 42 games. "The streak feels fine, but I'm sorry we couldn't send these fans home with a win," Foster said. Toby Foster walked in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th and walked in a run in the 8th. This year Foster is batting .437 with 45 hits and 13 home runs. He has scored 31 times and has batted in 39 runs. |
