Foster's Hit Streak Reaches 39 Games Tuesday, March 9th , 2060 Orleans lost to the Wareham Gatemen 7-4 at Clem Spillane Field today, but Toby Foster kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 2 hits. The Firebirds center fielder has now delivered hits in 39 straight games. "Toby has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Orleans manager Tony Solorio told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had." Toby Foster singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, was hit by a pitch in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and walked in the 8th. This season Foster has hit at a .441 clip with 37 RBIs, 13 home runs and 30 runs scored. |
