Huber Gets 5 Hits
Tuesday, February 10th , 2060
After a 5-hit effort to lead Oregon's 8-7 victory over the USC Trojans, first baseman Blake Huber told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the NCAA-level is really something special."

The 18-year-old player earned his accolades today at Dedeaux Field with a spectacular 5-for-7 game against the Trojans.

"His swing is getting there," said Ducks skipper Tom Allen, who spoke glowingly of Huber after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Blake did that to perfection today."

Blake Huber hit a two-run home run off Charlie Cruz in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, doubled in the 9th, singled in the 11th and flied out in the 13th.
