Southworth Canned as Manager by Long Beach State
Tuesday, May 9th , 2062
A "difference of opinion" has cost T.J. Southworth his job as manager of the Long Beach State 49ers.
Following a postgame meeting with front office officials and ownership, Southworth left the ballpark without addressing reporters. It was then revealed by the team's general manager that Southworth had been dismissed from the club. Few details are available on the firing at this time.
"Basically, it just came down to a difference of philosophy between T.J. and management," general manager Joe Unknown said.
When reached for comment at his Long Beach State home, Southworth refused to comment on the firing other than to say, "We just mutually parted ways. That's it."
The club will begin a search for Southworth's successor immediately. Several interviews have already been set up, but team officials declined to say who is on their list of possible replacements.
