Faulconer Gets Award for Relief Work

He may only be 20, but Julian Faulconer of the Louisiana State Tigers has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the NCAA.

The reliever was today named the NCAA Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2059.

He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up no saves in 25 relief appearances and 25 strikeouts in 33.1 innings. He had a record of 0-3 to go with his 1.35 ERA.

He received 23 first place votes out of a possible 24. Dominick Leeson of the Oklahoma Sooners finished second in voting, while Davis Williams of the California Golden Bears finished third with 1 first place vote.
