Florida State Takes Sweet 16 in Deciding Game
Tuesday, April 21st , 2065
The Florida State Seminoles and Miami Hurricanes didn't hold back anything in the Sweet 16, with each team pulling out all the stops in an effort to advance to the Regionals.
Florida State won the final game by a score of 9-5 at Dick Howser Stadium and that concluded the series, 2-1.
"Relief is the biggest thing," Florida State third baseman Wyatt Rogers said when asked how he felt. "It's a grind both mentally and physically to have a long series like this, but our guys stuck with it and Miami deserves credit for the hard fight."
Rogers paced the Florida State offence and earned MVP honors. For the series, he hit .300 with a .364 on-base percentage, 3 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Regionals matchups and schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes.
