Sharpe Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Sunday, April 4th , 2060 Jay Sharpe exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Goodwin Field. The Clemson shortstop had a field day in the 12-9 triumph over the Cal State Fullerton Titans, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Sharpe must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Jay Sharpe singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Simon Sharp in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
